Do I love teaching?

Hey Everyone..

Caizhuang, glad to hear that you are surviving till the end of the day as a teacher!

I think from your most recent post, it shows that you are beginning to get the hang of being a teacher. Now u make me ponder if I still have the passion to be a teacher. Haha!! Cos my friend also told me about those students asking how she was feeling when she return to school (cos she was sick previously) and her students ask her to take care. She said those words are enough to touch her heart and give her the strength to carry on...

Wow then I see your post on the students calling you Ms Wen from a corner.. quite sweet leh.. i find..haha..

Do you think I can apply for relief teaching for only 3 months? From May - Aug? think will approve? If can relief teach maybe it can give me a clearer picture if I really like teaching or just a 3 minutes fever! hahaha..

Exams drawing near.. haha..Thanks for your blessing Caizhuang!

Linah, so u have dropped the idea of becoming a teacher already?

Kian Ann..how's your driving lessons getting along!

ENDURE AND SEE THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOUR!

Regards,
Mildred

  • Yo Mildred,
Actually tyou can appply online to be relief teacher. On MOE's website.
If they send you letter say you can be relief teacher, then you can take the letter and call the schools you want to teach, see if they need any relief teacher.

There's no time limit to it. It's like they will call you if they need you for some periods.
    You're paid hourly one.

Then if they dun need your service, you no need to teach lor. So can go and try.

I was told that it's better you go try relief teaching first then try contract teaching. Or you will kana like me, overwhelmed by the students. Hahahaha.......

    So try your luck!

  • hey Mrs Hyun

It seems that u haven't given up ur passion for teaching huh...haha..I think you should go for it, try relief teaching first. Then from there, you will be able to know whether or not you are really keen to be a teacher.

p/s: oh btw, for relief teaching, issit can quit anytime?

  • It's not like you can quit anytime. It's like if you free to relief classes, then you go loh. If you dun wnat to teach that day, then just reject loh.
    It's like free lancing one.

Also must see if they need you a not lah.
